This week, I’ve attended Culture for all in Helsinki, days full of inspirational insights to be more including. Being both lecturer and participant, I’m happy about those days that offered me both new knowledge as well as new, interesting contacts.
A couple of things to mention specially after those days, to make your business more accessible and a place for all, accessibility should be noted in budget and schedule. This is not done very often, and is not very strange if you think of the lack of focus on this area. So that’s what we need, accessibility needs to be put higher on the agenda over all.
Technology powerful
Digitalization enables inaccessible things to become accessible. Technology is a powerful tool for accessibility, there’s no excuse to not provide accessibility, although tech is not enough. Together with design you can create remarkable opportunities. Managers need to address the possibility for people in their organisation to use these options in order to reach a better level of inclusion. That will make the place better for all, and following that, increase business opportunities.
