Yesterday Maria Sundbom were awarded with a Guldbagge (Swedish Oscar) for best Actress in a Leading Role in ”The Girl, the Mother and the Demons”.
The film, ”Flickan, mamman och demonerna” in Swedish, is directed by Suzanne Osten and highlight the problem with psychotic parents. Maria plays a single mother that isolates herself and her daughter, and the demons rules their lives. I’m truly happy that a movie that raises this hard situation, a problem seldom talked about, were awarded. Hopefully this will help the film to reach more people and raise the sometimes tabu about sick parents and bad mental health.
